What is the Feldenkrais Method?

A unique learning approach that helps your mind and body recognise and rewire unhelpful movement habits and patterns learned through our lived experiences.

Who is it For?

Those who want to:

  • Move with ease and efficiency,

  • Increase flexibility,

  • Improve functioning in daily life,

  • Age well,

  • Prevent or recover from Injury,

  • Manage pain and discomfort,

  • Investigate self-use in relation to disability,

  • Give yourself a performance edge.

What is the outcome? Your body becomes skillful in new and better ways to move toward what you want to do in the world.

Who developed the Feldenkrais Method?

Moshe Feldenkrais, an engineer, physicist and judo expert who, between the 1950's to his death in 1984,  developed a unique method that was dedicated to improving human life through better movement, sensation, posture and breathing

How does it Work?

Feldenkrais Method invites you to participate in an easy and empowering learning process of gentle movement, curiosity and investigation that improves and extends your movement potential.

Y Space acknowledge that our creative practice is built upon the unceded lands of Traditional Owners; the Jadawadjali, Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Wergaia and Jupagulk peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Through truth-telling, deep listening and respect, we hope that one day our work may find a small place in the vast continuum of the world’s oldest living culture and legitimately find a home within the country that inspires us.
